The Accounting Manager is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the general ledger. Working under the direction of the VP & CFO, the Accounting Manger directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the company. The incumbent should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience. The incumbent is also responsible for preparing annual internal financial statements and coordinating annual audits.

Required Elements

Supervises, directs, and reviews the work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, cash reconciliations, check runs, accounts payable and receivable transactions, collections, fixed asset activity, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.).
Has in-depth knowledge of the daily functions of all direct staff and when necessary performs those functions for an extended period of time.
Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities timely and prepares all associated financial reports.
Manages the annual audit.
Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
Analyze trends, cost, revenues, and financial commitment and make recommendations.
Involvement in M&A activities.
Communicate regularly to executive team on financial matters.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
Computer Skills: MS Word, Advanced proficiency in Excel, Internet, MS Access, MS Power Point
Previous experience with mid-market ERP implementations preferred.

Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Solid background in all standard financial reports.
Strategic business acumen and professional presentation skills required.
Individual who is self-motivated, professional, and detail-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
