Parker + Lynch is seeking a strong Accounting Manager for our leading manufacturing client located in central Houston. The ideal candidate will have a hybrid of experience in managing corporate accounting functions and special projects, such as complex accounting transactions and reporting. Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager role include:

  • Oversee all Corporate Accounting functions, including general accounting of corporate entities
  • Lead team on the monthly close processes for all corporate entities
  • Continuous collaboration with other accounting departments regarding monthly close matters
  • Lead monthly consolidation process, ensuring it is performed accurately and timely
  • Lead the general ledger and bank account reconciliation processes and provide feedback to staff
  • Oversee complex accounting areas, such as stock-based compensation
  • Ensure review of account analysis
  • Lead preparation of monthly internal reporting packages for management
  • Oversee the preparation of critical SEC supporting reports and documents
  • Manage the development of monthly forecasts and year-end budget processes
  • Liaise with external audit firm on quarterly reviews and year-end audit requests, including key analysis
  • Manage, train and develop staff in their respective areas and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Stay abreast to technical accounting pronouncements and trends in order to analyze the impact on the company, and application of new accounting pronouncements.

Primary requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required
  • CPA licenses and public accounting experience, required  
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles, SEC reporting rules and regulations and general and cost accounting
  • Working knowledge of SAP
