Accounting Manager

Parker + Lynch is seeking an Accounting Manager for our client here in Houston. This role is the perfect fit for a candidate that enjoys being hands-on, having limitless exposure to the organization and management and seeks a role with stability and longevity.  

 

Primary responsibilities of the Accounting Manager role:

  • Oversee all Corporate Accounting functions, including general accounting of corporate entities
  • Lead monthly close processes for corporate entities
  • Continuous collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead the general ledger and bank account reconciliation processes and provide feedback to staff
  • Assist CFO in overseeing complex accounting areas, such as revenue recognition
  • Ensure review of account analysis
  • Lead preparation of monthly internal reporting packages for management
  • Liaise with external audit firm on quarterly reviews and year-end audit requests
  • Manage, train and develop staff in their respective areas and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Stay abreast to technical accounting pronouncements and trends in order to analyze the impact on the company, and application of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Primary qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or actively pursuing
  • Great communication and organization skills, as well as a genuine interest in tax
  • ERP system experience, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, a plus
