Parker and Lynch has an opening for an Accounting Manager for our client in Fort Mill, SC.   • Communicate inventory count schedule to branches and ensure that they have all necessary documentation related to inventory to assist the branch for successful inventory counts.
  • Responsible for analyzing the status of crucial reports to assess the status of and readiness for effective branch inventory counts. Communicate findings and make recommendations to branch personnel.
  • Support inventory counts at branches with research before, during, and after the count.
  • Manage the inventory branch variance report and explain variances. Determine whether additional research is required before updating Chempax with final count.
  • Utilize Chempax for inventory count and reporting associated with the count updates.
  • Create inventory costing worksheet and update the reconciliation mix report with findings. Reconcile procedures to ensure proper cut offs were achieved or accounted for in reconciliations.
  • Communicate and record results of inventory reconciliation process to all necessary parties.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to each branch that would result in improved counts and inventory reporting through the inventory cycle and in future inventory counts.
  • Maintain and update all inventory process documentation.
  • Responsible for all reporting related to inventory, excess inventory, obsolescence, and ensure months on hand calculations are timely and accurate.
  • Communicate updates to leadership regarding inventory related procedures and documentation.
  • Support monthly close procedures related to inventory and cost of sales.
  • Support year-end financial close and external audit as they pertain to inventory related activities.
  • Visit branches for learning and improvement with preparing, completing counts, and researching of variances.
  • Support inventory or costs reporting and analysis.
  • Responsible for the review and approval process related to cash disbursement for supplier accounts.
  • Responsible for maintaining manufacturing cost rates on a periodic basis for multiple entities and manufacturing processes. Constantly analyzing methodology of costing process and ensuring changes in environment are considered.
  • Recommend changes through research and present how changes would impact operational and financial results.
  • Aid Corporate Controller in timely and effective month and year-end closing activities.
  • Support year-end audit engagement.
  • Support Corporate Controller and other members of corporate accounting team with required reporting, ad-hoc reporting and other projects as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least 5-10 of experience, specifically in inventory reconciliation and manufacturing rates
  • Prior experience in an accounting leadership role
  • Prior experience leading and supporting others
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be able to think and work independently
  • Must have excellent communication and presentations skills
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Prior experience using an ERP system to extract data to make decisions
