  • Responsible for the guidance or supervision of other accounting team members, including day to day activities, provide coaching and mentoring, support with setting goals and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for various daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual financial/cost reports and statements. Makes necessary corrections and/or changes to obtain accurate financial information.
  • Prepare capital budget and give authorization for expenditure process, including financial analysis of new equipment purchases and coordinating required meetings.
  • Gathers, reviews, and analyzes statistical information and may review documents prepared by others.
  • Direct cost accounting activities including calculating overhead rates, updating standard costs, material cost tracking and product cost and ROI analysis.
  • Assists with new product programs by providing target costing, cost tracking and financial analysis, including discounted cash flow analysis. Supports others outside the accounting department to establish costs and assist with making sound business decisions.
  • Analyzes financial statements, budget, and other reports to summarize and interpret current company financial position for managers.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions. Evaluates, analyzes, and corrects errors and discrepancies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Monitors compliance with company processes, generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls of the company, including proper documentation of procedures and record retention policies.
  • Implements, revises, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Gather proper data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns. Report consolidation data to parent companies.
  • Facilitate gathering of appropriate data for annual audit by a public accounting firm.
  • Supports Controller with preparation of the annual and 5-year business plans and various projects as needed.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8-10 years of experience required, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Strong organizational skills required
