Parker & Lynch is seeking a Finance/Accounting hybrid for a cannabis company that is a market leader in the cultivation, harvest, and extraction of high-grade cannabis products throughout the United States. This position is ideal for someone with a great ability in rolling up their sleeves to do the hands on accounting and someone who has a business oriented/entrepreneurial mind who wants to be involved in product analysis and uncovering ways to scale the business.

Job Summary

This Accounting/Finance Manager must be responsible for the daily maintenance of the general ledger and product cost accounting, and the monthly production of reliable, timely financial package. Ad hoc financial analysis will also be an essential part of this position. Cost accounting will require heavy interface with manufacturing operations, understanding the production process and related economics.  This candidate will also oversee the successful maintenance of an internal control structure for assigned business units.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and a value-added financial package
  • Develop and update intermediate balance sheet recs to ensure a reliable presentation of balance sheet with solid controls
  • Research and document resolution on intermediate accounting issues.
  • Develop, update, and maintain inventory standard costs
  • Create and review intermediate general ledger entries for various business entities
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Designs and maintains internal accounting controls over accounting and reporting functions.
  • Monitor cash flow and update cash forecast
  • Support development of annual budget and related forecasts.
  • Research and explain account variances, interpret trends, evaluate fluctuations
  • Prepare required documents for annual financial audits

This position is one where one would be the sole accountant. The person would take part in invoicing, coordinating, and managing inventory. This person would be working alongside the local operations and sales team and engaging with them as well. The work will entail preparing multiple journal entries.

Desired that this person is tech savvy and desire to work with inventory and inputting inventory controls and procedures.

1.This individual would be first challenged with financial statement preparation and streamlining internal controls and reconciling balance sheets.

2. They would be executing product based analysis and evaluation

3. Jack of all trades/problem solver and can take initiative to create efficiencies and be resourceful. Good communication is key as there will be constant interaction between the CFO and sales/ops team. One would also deal with vendor disputes as well.

Bachelor's degree minimal requirement. No management experience needed.

Hours of operation are 8:30-5:30 OT when needed
