Are you an experienced Accounting Manager and ready for that next step in your accounting career? We are assisting our manufacturing client in their search for a strategic business partner and advisor to add to the leadership team. The Assistant Controller will assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization related to long-term organizational goals, budgets and forecasts, financial reporting, internal controls, corporate compliance, general accounting and financial audit and analysis of results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accuracy of G/L by detailed analysis of monthly P & L and Balance Sheet
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Works with company auditors as needed for financial and retirement plan audits
  • Responsible for the safeguarding the assets of the company including cash, accounts receivable, inventory and fixed assets
  • Works with tax preparation firm; preparing financial forecasts, filing quarterly tax estimates and annual tax filings
  • Lead efforts to help define and evolve the financial and operational metrics of the company
  • Must be customer oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain company information in confidential manner
  • Must have ability to sustain relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally
  • Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; 7-10 years of related experience
  • CPA required
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office with advanced skills in Excel
  • Excellent people management skills and experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience
