Are you an experienced Accounting and Finance leader in Charlotte, NC with at least 10 years of accounting experience looking for a new challenge? Parker and Lynch is seeking a CFO for an established client in the healthcare industry. This is a great opportunity to join a non-profit organization in implementing the overall financial strategy and management of the organization.


  • Responsible for leading the finance team and participate with management to develop the strategic direction of the organization and collaborate with leadership to analyze financials to support key initiatives and decisions. Support leadership and Board of Directors in analyzing the financial implications of strategies, decisions and making recommendations to improve financial performance of the organization.
  • Responsible for all fiscal operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, purchasing, collections, and general accounting. This includes the maintenance of effective accounting and billing systems.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance.
  • Implement internal controls and GAAP.
  • Oversee monthly and year-end closing processes and prepare the monthly financial statements. Maintain timely and accurate financial accounting records on an accrual basis.
  • Responsible for financial and operational reporting related to health center performance.
  • Constantly evaluate financial position of organization and generate periodic reports and forecasts for organization’s financial stability, growth, and liquidity. Recommend solutions to improve financial performance.
  • Present financial statements and other analysis to Board of Directors at monthly Financial Committee meeting to provide insights into current financial position of organization. Attend monthly Board meetings and provide financial reports to Board.
  • Oversee the annual audit, including the preparation of all worksheets and account analyses and reporting to the Finance Committee, Board and Management.
  • Support the development and preparation of year-end financial statements.
  • Responsible for the preparation and issuance of all regulatory reports (FCTR, FFR, Medicare Cost report, IRS Form 990, Form 5500, etc.)
  • Collaborate with management on the preparation of the annual budget and individual grant budgets, coordinate departmental budgets, monitor departmental budget performance, and ensure that expenditures follow legal and budgetary requirements.
  • Support leadership and management in developing strategic plan as it pertains to the financial aspect.
  • Responsible for achieving maximum third-party reimbursement.
  • Responsible for yearly updates to Sliding Fee Discount Schedule and Schedule of Fees.
  • Direct the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of Finance and Billing staff.
  • Support development staff in recording and tracking financial and in-kind donations along with local and state grant funds.
  • Support development staff through the preparation of financial reports required by donors and funders.
  • Support CEO through budget preparation and ongoing financial reporting required by federal grants.
  • Ensure all insurance coverages are in place.
  • Support HR in the review and revision of comp structure, benefit plans, and staff levels.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, specifically in all major aspects of accounting and finance
  • Prior experience using Financial Edge software a plus
  • Prior experience in healthcare finance, including third-party reimbursement mechanisms
  • Prior experience in a managerial role
  • Prior experience with federal grant reporting
  • Prior experience in revenue cycle management in the healthcare industry
  • Prior experience preparing and interpreting financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting, including grant accounting, reporting and compliance
  • Knowledge of governmental cost principles, clinic financial and budget practices, and governmental auditing principles
  • Strong ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships across the organization
