Parker+Lynch is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to join a Washington DC-based real estate and technology services company. The role reports directly to the Controller and oversees accounting matters related to the build out and construction of new company sites. 



  • Provide analysis of job/project related cash flows and created related reporting
  • Provide all job cost accounting for ongoing and future construction projects, which includes budgeting, invoice and purchase order monitoring/reconciliation, and site variance analysis  
  • In close coordination with other strategic leaders, assist in planning and forecasting discussions specific to construction projects
  • Continually confirm that all projects are tracking toward the projected and set budgets while maintaining an understanding of job related costs 
  • Ensure ongoing mitigation of risk through proactive monitoring of projects and elevate concerns as needed
  • Prepare and present financial statements for use in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, as well as the asset management team meetings 
  • Oversee all construction project financial records and change orders 
  • Ensure that all loan draws are completed in accordance with project schedules, following lender guidelines and covenants


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required
  • Active CPA preferred, but not required 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and development accounting 
  • Must be a self-motivated and highly idependent worker who has an ability to work cross functionally and cross departmentally
  • Experience with Yardi or NetSuite is a plus
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel is a plus
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
