Parker+Lynch is looking for a Controller who is available on a consultant basis to assist our client in the government technology space.  Located in Gilbert, your main focus as a consultant will be managing the company’s chart of accounts, producing financial reports and analysis, handling government contracts and overseeing transactional and operational accounting functions. You’ll report directly to the CFO, supporting them with Ad Hoc work and other special, high-level requests.

Compensation is between $45-55 per hour. Interviews will be held immediately as we are looking for someone who is flexible to start right away. The length of this consulting engagement will be at least 2-3 months, but possibly longer.

Primary Job Functions Include:

  • Oversee financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and provide accurate and timely statements for quarterly review
  • Oversee and manage the month-end close and audit processes, as well as review fixed asset entries, depreciation schedules and AP/AR transactions
  • Prepare financial reports and other financial tools to evaluate company ventures, expenditures and special projects
  • Responsible for government contract administration and reporting for regulatory bodies
  • Prepare corporate tax returns and tax filings, as well as conduct tax research and analysis for various states and US territories
  • Provide daily support to the CFO and work closely with other internal departments on a daily basis
  • Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of controllership experience; government contracting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel; Deltek software experience strongly desired  
  • Advanced financial reporting, analysis and planning experience
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, verbal and written
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls and regulations
  • Ability to streamline processes and improve policies and procedures
