Our client, a professional services firm, is looking to hire a Controller for their mid-sized, multi-state corporation.  They’re a Private Equity-owned business with over 20 branch locations nationwide.  Qualified candidates will have prior accounting management level experience in the construction or contracting field.  You will report to the CFO of the company and manage general accounting, P&L’s for the branches,  ad hoc reporting for the P/E ownership and work with outside CPA firm on year-end financial statements.  This is a great opportunity to join a highly successful, profitable and growing firm.

 

Responsibilities for the Controller job include:

  • Manage a 6 person staff, reporting directly to the CFO
  • Evaluate and establish internal controls
  • Review monthly banks recs, loan draws
  • Review contracts, workpapers, reconciliations, etc.
  • Audit of all subcontractor and supplier invoices for accuracy
  • Work closely with the CFO on all monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
  •  

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of accounting experience required, mix of public and private accounting is a plus
  • Staff management experience required
  • Strong systems experience required; MS Dynamics, NetSuite or Sage preferred
  • Strong Excel knowledge; Pivot Tables, Vlookups, SUMIF, formulas
