Parker+Lynch is conducting a search for a Controller for a growing, regional commercial construction company headquartered in Orlando, FL. The Controller manages the accounting team and supports all accounting functions at the corporate level for the company. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of commercial construction contracting and experience working at the corporate level overseeing the multi-company month end close,WIP Report, Job Costing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, preparing financial statements and WIP.  

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee functions in Accounts Payable - AP, Accounts Receivable – AR, Payroll, and Account Reconciliation
  • Identify and communicate areas of financial risk
  • Ensure owner billings are prepared timely and in accordance with contractual terms
  • Ensure jobs are processed in accordance with company internal control procedures
  • Support the tax compliance function of the company
  • Oversee Preparation and analysis of purchase orders and payables
  • Manage the WIP Reporting process
  • Create cash flow projections
  • Work to minimize tax liabilities
  • Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Solid Communication both verbal and written
  • Ability to establish timelines and budgets
  • Very strong computer skills with experience using project management / cost accounting software packages- preferable Sage (Timberline)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is Accounting, or Finance is required
  • Documented knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting functions.
