Parker + Lynch is exclusively looking for a Controller for a client base in Albuquerque, NM! You will be responsible for overseeing a small team of accountants/analysts performing all accounting functions within the company, reporting directly to the President/CEO of this business unit. Our client is a Federal contractor and requires industry knowledge in service-based contracts. This position is open because of a retirement, you will have the opportunity to cross train with the person retiring. Your direct supervisor is hands off and has had an impressive 30 years career.

***This opportunity offers a hybrid work setting, 50% remote, 50% in the office. The person must be based in Albuquerque or the surrounding area.***

Annual Starting Salary up to 120K, commensurate with experience, strong benefit and annual bonus offered.

Responsibilities:

· Managing a small accounting team

· Prepare internal and external financial reporting

· Overseeing all accounting functions

· Month end close process

· Working with outside auditors

· Analyze current procedures and reporting to recommend changes

· Develop and implement best practices

· Excellent communication skills and ability to build great working relationships

Education Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business

Experience Requirements: 

· 10+ years of directly related accounting experience

· 3+ years management experience

· Advanced Microsoft Excel

· 5+ years of government contract accounting experience required

Pay Rate: $100-120k/year

Work Hours: 8am to 5pm, 40 hours a week.  Close week: 8am to 6pm, 45 hours a week
