Parker + Lynch is currently seeking a strategic Controller to join one of the largest midstream companies in the country. The Controller will oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies and procedures, and play a key role in centralizing all accounting to the Houston office. This job will be hands-on; the key initiative coming in is to set internal controls and to help integrate a recently acquired competitor.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all corporate accounting functions which include allocations, accounts payable, fixed assets, debt, intercompany, and payroll
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes (including consolidation), ensuring timeliness and accuracy of reporting
Variance Analysis
Ensure that all debt, intercompany, and equity-related transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted and reconciled/eliminated in the consolidation
Analysis of monthly financial statements and closing reports ensuring major exceptions and variances are adequately explained
Manage the integration of new subsidiaries, including the valuation of assets
Lead a team of 8+ including hiring, training & development
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
8+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of management
CPA required
Oil and Gas experience preferably in the midstream space
Internal control design and integration
GAAP expertise
Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP preferred
