Software company is growing globally and is in need of a Director of Accounting.  Are you ready to lead the transformation of the accounting operations of this growth-focused company?  You'll also participate in M&A, including technical accounting and due diligence.

 

While this position is remote, this Portland based hire will eventually travel to the West Coast 10% of the time (post-covid).

 

Oversee professional services accounting:

  • Manage and ensure appropriate revenue recognition and cost reporting of the professional services organization, including a team of 3.
  • Leverage technology to optimize and standardize processes across EMEA, Americas, and Asia Pacific
  • Automate accounting processes and procedures.
  • Develop technical accounting analysis for new transactions by proactively working with business owners and looking for optimal conclusion for both operations and reporting.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors with a focus on optimizing tax profile
  • Constantly identify and improve processes to accelerate close timelines and increase efficiency
  • Lead accounting and finance diligence for potential targets and provide input on strategic investment decisions.
  • Identify talent within the organization and work with leaders on development plans
  • Ability to build cross functional relationship while driving their accountability.

    We're seeking an experienced leader with:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA preferred with in depth knowledge of GAAP, especially ASC 606
  • 9 to 12 years of relevant experience including at least 3 years of management experience
  • Big four accounting experience and industry experience required
  • Experience building, managing and supporting diverse teams
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to all levels within the organization
  • A self-starter with the confidence to walk into a room not knowing the details of the topic and walk out of the meeting with a plan
  • Experience in automating existing processes
  • Experience in an end-to-end SEC reporting is a plus
