Director of Accounting

Parker + Lynch is partnering with a global transportation organization in Pennsauken, NJ on a search for a Director of Accounting. This role is open due to a recent promotion within the organization and will be responsible for handling the day to day accounting operations within the organization including the monthly/quarterly close, financial statements, budget vs. actual, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general accounting function, which includes cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, balance sheet management, inter-company accounting
  • In collaboration with the CFO and external technical resources, draft and format financial reports, schedules, and statements, for SEC filings
  • Ensure that credit risk is balanced with business objectives, targets are met and that only valid claims with proper management authorization are paid.
  • Verify that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
  • Provide technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Maintain company financial records in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
  • Prepare company financial reports in accordance with policies and directives and US GAAP
  • Supervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation.
  • Maintain Financial Accounting systems including validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
  • Coordinate work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company's financial records.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance CPA Required
  • 8+ years in Accounting, Audit experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • knowledge of SEC reporting and SEC regulations
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
