Parker and Lynch is currently seeking a Financial Analyst with at least 3 years of experience for a full-time job at an established client in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a lead in the annual budgeting process, including the review of current and future operating spend planned within each department (headcount, utilities, etc.), capital planning/forecasting, and ERP budget planning.
  • Responsible for monthly operating spend analysis vs. budget and working with indirect buyers to ensure spend is assigned to the correct cost center and GL account.
  • Collaborate with department managers and directors to guarantee planned spend is meeting budget in addition to identifying productivity within current spend.
  • Support the development of a process to track capital project actuals vs. budgeted returns.
  • Support with other ad-hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Serve as primary contact for ad-hoc financial reports, special projects such as Continuous Improvement/Lean Guiding Coalition initiatives and payback analysis.
  • Responsible for helping lead the automation of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support the management of projects related to audit, budgeting, capital requests and other plant initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external auditors throughout yearly audit process.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Proficiency with a fully integrated ERP system
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.)
  • Prior experience using Power BI preferred
  • Prior experience with general ledger and fixed assets
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting processes and principles pertaining to GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of overhead budgets and standard cost budgeting
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in a written manner across the organization
  • Ability to challenge current processes and recommend process improvements
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Ability to collect data, determine facts, and draw pertinent conclusions
  • Certified Management Accountant certification a plus
