Position Overview: The Controller will report to the CFO. This position will ensure the processes, systems and controls around financial reporting, general accounting, are designed appropriately, functioning as designed and produce accurate financial information. Responsible for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management/treasury. This will include booking journal entries, calculation of accruals, researching data, budget preparation and ad hoc analysis projects.

Responsibilities of the Controller:

Responsible for month end accounting closing and reporting.

Responsible for financial transaction recording and reporting for the entities assigned by management

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

Manage daily operations of the accounting department.

Monitors daily cash.

Maintain account signors and authorized users of bank accounts

Managing Tax compliance, including Sales tax filings.

Maintain accuracy of general ledger / sub-ledger accounts and reconciliations.

Review and approve invoices for proper G/L account selection, authorization for purchases, resolve accounting issues with vendors and customers.

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year end close process

Prepare work papers, account analysis, supporting schedules to support month end close.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, reports and projections.

Analyze and evaluate business processes and recommend actions to streamline processes, improve operational efficiencies and identify opportunities for reducing costs.

Coordinate external audits with banks and outside CPA firm. Develop relationship with auditors.

Develop and oversee policies and procedures consistent with the Company’s financial objectives to support growth strategies, cost effectiveness and compliance enforcement.

Assist in ad-hoc projects.

Performs other assignments and duties as necessary.

Qualifications for the Controller:


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.

CPA required.

Distribution experience a plus.

Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel skills.

Good supervisory, strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Proven ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines.

Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented.
