Financial Reporting Manager

Parker + Lynch is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager for our Houston area insurance industry client. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the insurance industry and a mix between public accounting and industry experience in financial reporting and technical accounting. Primary responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Manager role include:

  • Prepare/review the quarterly and annual GAAP and ensure compliance with all GAAP reporting requirements
  • Develops/maintains a consistent formal process to support financial reporting.
  • Maintain a calendar of quarterly deliverables to keep all filings on schedule.
  • Coordinate and assist in preparation of audit committee, board materials and other items as necessary.
  • Assist in process improvements.
  • Completes all relevant U.S. GAAP disclosure checklists and challenges the appropriateness of disclosures.
  • Works collaboratively with managers and controllers, corporate finance staff, internal audit, and others with a focus on technical accounting matters and policies.
  • Other duties as needed

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or finance, or related experience
  • CPA and insurance industry experience, required
  • 7+ years of financial reporting, technical accounting and/or public accounting experience
