Parker+Lynch is seeking a Fixed Assets Manager on behalf of our client in the DC area. In this role, the Manager will be an integral member of the Corporate Accounting team, and will be responsible for the accurate and timely accounting of all matters related to fixed assets and leases for the company and its subsidiaries. This role will partner with various departments including Operations, Facilities, FP&A, and others to support reporting related to capital purchasing and month-end procedures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing Fixed Assets and driving process improvement and in a large, fast-paced, publicly traded organization.

 

Duties of this position include:

• Owning the fixed asset system and recording of all fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions

• Driving accurate financial reporting in compliance with existing policies and GAAP

• Handling financial statement disclosure of future minimum lease payments and commitments table

• Leading the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts including the transition from construction in progress to fixed asset categories and assignment of useful lives

• Tracking and managing all lease agreements, payments and asset retirement obligations, if applicable, across the organization

 

Qualifications for this position:

• Over 5 years of experience managing fixed assets and lease accounting in a public company with a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business related field

• Expertise in Fixed Assets accounting demonstrated through a role in manufacturing, accounting operations, capital project management, or in an audit capacity

• Experience with PP&E accounting and reporting, business process improvement efforts, audit remediation, and documenting policies and procedures required

• Advanced knowledge of accounting concepts; GAAP, and SOX requirements
