Our client is a well funded social services organizations is seeking a strong Assistant Controller to join and lead their team. You will oversee the day to day financials, month-end close,  providing strategic support to sales and operations. Organization offers some amazing benefits including strong benefits, generous PTO, free lunch, transit, and 403B!  You must have a minimum of 7 years of Accounting experience and be a pro-active, analytical individual with experience managing a staff.  

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure monthly close is finalized in a timely manner and all financial information is accurate and in compliance with GAAP
  • Expertise with city, state and federal grants, particularly DOH, NIH and NYC based 
  • Provide analytical support to senior management to support key business decisions
  • Implement internal controls to efficiently manage all accounting/finance functions
  • Oversee Accounts Payable  to monitor cash flow for organization
  • Assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with special projects
  •  

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required
  • At least 7 years of progressive Accounting experience in non-profit organizations
  • Must have strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to different departments
  • Strong leader/mentor
  • Been involved in an ERP implemenation would be a plus
