Are you an experienced Tax Accountant in Charlotte, NC with at least 5 years of indirect tax experience looking for a new challenge? Parker and Lynch is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager for a rapidly growing, public retail company.   • Responsible for the coordination of monthly sales and use tax, including GST, HST, and QST filings and journal entries.
  • Responsible for the coordination and resolution of sales and use tax, including GST, HST, and QST notices and audits.
  • Responsible for sales and use tax exemption certificates.
  • Research and plan to minimize indirect tax liabilities, including property tax appeals.
  • Ensure new locations and businesses are registered for sales and use tax.
  • Research, document, and resolve issues pertaining to return positions, audit positions and various field inquiries.
  • Review proposed and enacted legislation and estimate impact to operations.
  • Communicate tax law developments to business partners to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with implementation of process improvements.
  • Support business operations through technical assistance such as contract reviews with respect to indirect tax obligations.
  • Support due diligence and integration of new acquired business.
  • Support external advisors with special projects.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of sales tax experience in public or corporate
  • CPA preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • At least 1 year of managerial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong analytical and technical skills required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and lead change where no authority exists
