Seeking an Insurance Verification & Data Entry Technician to join a renowned healthcare company in the Toledo, OH area. 

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a healthcare billing office

Insurance knowledge in the areas:  Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, Hospice

2-3 years previous experience in pre-auth verifications, authorizations, and healthcare data entry in a skilled nursing setting preferred

Excellent verbal and written communications

Proven ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision

Prior case management experience is a plus

Strong computer software skills and experience using Excel spreadsheets. 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

 

Responsibilities

The Insurance Verification and Data Entry Technician will be responsible for validating insurance eligibility and coverage, coordination of benefits, and entering information into case management systems

Contacts Insurance companies by phone or online portal to obtain insurance benefits, eligibility, and authorization information

Communicate and work with facility staff to ensure accurate and timely submission of updates to insurance plans

Perform reviews of patient information and input necessary updates into case management system

Assist central billing office in gathering documents, faxing, mailing, etc. as requested by management staff

Documents patient responsibility to include any co-pay, co-insurance and outstanding deductible

Establishes and maintains a professional and collaborative relationship with all facility and home office staff to ensure patient insurance is verified accurately and updates are sent timely

Performs monthly verification for all Medicaid and MyCare Ohio patients

Maintains patient record confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, complying with company policies and procedures
