Manager of Technical Accounting

Our client is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting to join their growing team. Your responsibilities will include researching and drafting positions on technical accounting issues as they arise including business combinations and dispositions, equity based awards, inventory variances, and leading the implementation of new accounting standards such as leasing and revenue. You will also assist the Controller, Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities such as preparing monthly financial reporting packages and specific account analyses including inventory reconciliations.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Monthly close and the preparation of the monthly internal financial reporting package for multiple entities.
  • Prepare monthly financial analytical analyses.
  • Utilize the general ledger application to prepare the consolidation, balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Prepare monthly account analyses relating to inventory reconciliations, vendor rebates, accruals, cost of goods sold, deferred rent, and others.
  • Oversee accounts payable and review vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Lead update to the annual audited financial statements including footnotes.
  • Research and draft positions on technical accounting issues as they arise.
  • Assist in preparing and maintain the annual budget.
  • Assist with preparing quarterly tax estimates.
  • Ensure timely and accurate postings of various general ledger activity including revenue reporting process.
  • Prepare and review audit schedules and provide other requested documentation related to the external audit.

    Education and Experience

  • Accounting degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant accounting experience with a CPA firm
  • CPA required
  • Inventory accounting experience preferred
  • Experience utilizing finance/accounting sytems. Knowledge of QuickBooks and Great Plains accounting software is a plus.
