Payroll Coordinator

My client just added a Controller to their growing team and due to the high growth trend they will be bringing in their union payroll in-house so they’re adding a Payroll Coordinator in the Chicagoland area. The ideal person has led the entire Payroll department of union and non-union employees. 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience  
  • Union payroll experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related
  • Experience with CMIC is highly preferred

Duties:

  • Assist in processing weekly union and non-union payroll
  • Understand/monitor the flow of information in the payroll system, ensuring that all changes are processed correctly
  • Payroll System maintenance and setting up new hires
  • Prepare all wage garnishment and wage assignment payments 
  • In charge of payroll check distribution 
  • Prepare journal entries, review and reconcile various payroll general ledger accounts, and manage various additional month-end tasks

Employment type: Full time, Direct-hire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:30 with flexibility, as needed

Compensation: Market competitive; $40K - $50K
