Parker+Lynch are recruiting for a Payroll Director to join the team of a fast-paced organization in the nonprofit/services sector.  This is a robust role with an organization that is looking for someone with team leadership experience, who enjoys a collaborative culture and has solid payroll and payroll tax compliance experience. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • CPP Required, BS accounting/finance or related field preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong multi state payroll experience to include related tax compliance and set up
  • Ability to interpret and provide sound advice on the application of tax laws.
  • Competence in payroll systems, applications and set up
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of the Assistant Payroll Director, providing coaching, direction, training, development, and job performance evaluations
  • Preparation of full cycle payroll to understand current process and recommend improvements
  • Monitor agency tax notices using ADP Smart Compliance daily to view and resolve tax changes
  • Resolve payroll tax matters in a timely manner and provide accounting the break down per cost center/funder
  • Responsible for determining the appropriate taxability of all payroll earnings and deductions and ensuring that the payroll system is taxing accordingly
  • Develop and oversee fiscal and internal controls
  • Ensure proper preparation, accuracy, and timely processing of payroll in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Remain current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations By studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain data integrity of payroll information.
  • Oversee quarterly and end of year tax filing processes.
  • Verify that W-2s are accurate
  • Produce reports for upper management upon request.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Internal, External, Federal Payroll audits.
