Parker + Lynch is currently partnering with a large construction organization in the Marlton, NJ area on a search for a Payroll Specialist! As the Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for processing payroll bi-weekly on both the multi-state and international basis, along with assisting in the implementation of a new payroll software and take lead on special projects as they arise.

Our client is seeking candidates with at least 5 years of hands on payroll experience, the ability to work with multiple departments within the organization, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field, and previous software implementation experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Performs administrative and record-keeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
  • Assists with compiling HR/Payroll audit records.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field
  • 5-7 years of payroll experience required
  • CPP designation a plus
  • Experience with ADP, Deltek, or Paychex required
