Parker+Lynch is working with a Middle-Market Private Equity firm in downtown Washington DC to find an experienced tax professional to join their accounting and finance leadership team. This role will interact with other finance and accounting leaders, firm principals, and members of the deal team. 

Job Responsibilities


The Tax Manager would report to the Tax Director and work with the accounting group in the completion of the following duties:


Tax Accounting

  • Coordinate and project manage the annual and quarterly tax compliance process with multiple separate tax providers and teams.
    • Liaise with portfolio company management teams and external tax providers to coordinate quarterly multi state portfolio company tax estimates, withholding, and reporting.
    • Coordinate and prepare FDAP and ECI estimates and any associated tax withholding/reporting on a quarterly basis and in conjunction with any distributions.
    • Book tax expense and tax distribution journal entries.
    • Manage annual foreign local filings with administrator and tax counsel.
  • Provide fund and investment structuring support and research for internal and external tax, legal, and deal teams.
  • Communicate with foreign tax counsel and advisers to manage local structures and evaluate changes in local law and tax treaties.
  • Write tax memos and document various procedures.
  • Research and respond to Federal and state tax notices as they arise.
  • Research and respond to LP tax information requests.
  • Prepare basic annual blocker corporation tax provisions.
  • Maintain database of investor tax attributes used for both tax returns and FATCA/CRS reporting.
  • Assist with FATCA/CRS compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare annual DC ballpark, property, SUTA, etc. tax returns.
  • Assist the Tax Director and accounting department with ad hoc projects as they arise.





  • 4-8 years of progressive partnership tax accounting and/or private equity experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Prior Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience preferred
  • Prior investment partnership experience preferred
  • Prior multi-state and international tax experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational/project management skills
  • Superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work independently on multiple projects accurately within tight time frames
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with and establish strong relationships both internally and with external contacts
  • Computer skills required include high proficiency in Excel, word processing, and basic accounting software experience (preferably QuickBooks)


Personal Attributes:

  • The individual should have a strong tax technical background and be able to translate and explain the tax technical in practical terms.
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills are a must. Must be a self-starter and be proactive in getting tasks done.
  • The individual should also possess the ability to think on one's feet, improvise, have a “big picture” approach and demonstrate developed analytical skills.  In addition, the person should have a temperament that will permit that individual to thrive in a hard-working team environment.
  • The ideal candidate must be a creative, innovative team player.  It is also important that this person display maturity, good judgment, and an ability to work with professionals at all levels.
