Parker+Lynch is hiring a Senior Project Accountant for a real estate developer and general contractor in Calabasas, CA. This is a newly created position to help the family-owned business expand into new markets.
Overview:
The Senior Project Accountant will be responsible for construction accounting and supporting several projects in various stages of development. Position reports to the Controller and works with a 12-person accounting team as well as Project Management.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and maintain the job cost sub-ledger, including processing and recording journal entries for job cost allocations, accruals, capitalization and transfers to fixed assets
Act as a liaison between accounting and operations in the field to ensure all project budgets are accurate and updated timely
Inputs approved budgets, check all coding and maintain budgets for Project Managers and Construction Managers.
Track job costs and monthly loan draws to multiple Lenders
Prepare and distribute summary of updated cash flow forecasts
Prepare various ad hoc reports
Qualifications:
Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Experience - 3 to 5 years accounting in the construction industry
Industry - Multi-family and home-building experience preferred doing Construction loan draws using AIA documents
Software - Sage Timberline, Viewpoint Vista, JD Edwards, Newstar, Excel
Soft Skills - communicate project financials to multiple teams, subcontractors and lenders
