Parker and Lynch is looking for Property Accountant to join a property management company in the downtown Chicago area. This job is a 100% in office, opportunities to work from home every so often once settled in. This role will be reporting to the Director of accounting and the controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Help the accounting team with two accounts; Payable Coordinators and one Accounts Receivable Coordinator
  • Working to improve processes and internal controls designed around the financial processes with the Director of accounting
  • Assist with external audits, compilations, 1099 processing and sales tax returns
  • Complete Various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis
  • Review accounts payable, process checks and assist with cash management
  • Prepare journal entries for various transactions and cash receipts.
  • Help with uploading files and annual budgets
  • Take on any tasks assigned by ownership, senior leadership and employee’s direct supervisor
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 5 years of experience in residential real estate accounting
  • Property management software required, strongly prefer Yardi or Payscan
  • Ability to work with a team and collaborate with others
  • CPA certified is a plus
