POSITION PURPOSE

The rebate analyst will perform calculations and generate payments in compliance with executed GPO/distributor and channel Agreements. Function as subject matter expert on medical rebates deductions and calculations. Analyze medical rebates deductions and explain payment differences. Provide performance reports to management team and communicate any items of concern, such as unexplained variances or possible disputes. Provide data, analysis, and support as needed for cross-functional activities such as medical rebates forecasting and budgeting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Reconciles distributor rebate information with internal deductions through A/P.

Reviews and validates contract and item level price from incoming distributor data.

Reports, analyzes, and reconciles sales data working with internal stakeholders, manufacturer partners and sister companies.

Perform validation tasks and analyze both eligibility and contract data to determine proper customer level pricing. Leverage data and strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to protect company interests.

Responds accurately and timely to requests for supplemental information or additional detail regarding medical rebates

Works closely with contracts, Finance, eligibility departments and manufacturer partners to resolve any issues implicating contract pricing

Responsible for working independently on contracts data and proactively solving problems with data and other reporting needs.

Responsible for accurately entering contract data into the centralized contract file maintenance system.

Ensures the accuracy of rebate payments for all contracted customers.

Partner with Finance to ensure proper forecasting, budgeting and accruals for all rebates

Proactively research and analyze payment variances and trends, to find outliers and research root causes for potential upstream errors or market activity.

Provides monthly reports of medical rebates deduction trends within markets

Communicates findings, recommendations, and correction plans verbally and in writing to management and other stakeholders.

Act as liaison between Business Finance and Business IT team to maintain automation quality and process for related tasks.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

Ensures all medical rebates are correct and on time

Develop KPIs to help understand medical rebates trends

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Experience in merging data from multiple different sources in Microsoft Excel.

Experience in collecting and organizing large volumes of raw data using Pivot Tables, Vlookups, and Access queries

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

Proficient in IBM Cognos a plus

Knowledge of Distributor Sales Tracings

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3+ years of related experience working in contract operations for manufacturer, pharmaceutical, or healthcare company.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent communication skills, strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on time management, follow-through, and issue resolution abilities.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals

Strong team player that is able to multi-task with multiple interruptions in a deadline-intense environment.

Able to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and recommend solutions through analysis.

General knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) contracts, with the ability to fully learn and understand our contracts
