Parker + Lynch is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for one of our growing investment clients in the Houston area. We are seeking a highly ambitious, self-starter who is used to working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. This person should also have a strong technical accounting and reporting background with a strong attention to detail, organizational skills and can effectively lead a team to meet tight deadlines as well.

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Supervising, training and develop staff and manage internal reporting
  • Budgeting and planning, including ensuring data compliance for assigned accounts across all relevant systems.
  • Prepare and Review monthly and quarterly close procedures and ability to advise improvements when needed.
  • Occasionally assist in research of accounting processes and execution of new polices
  • Investor and analyst presentations
  • Prepare analysis over financial results on a monthly basis and report on variances versus prior periods to efficiently report results to upper management and internal business partners
  • Contribute to improving accounting technology functionality and provide recommendations
  • SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, etc.)
  • GL accounting, reconciliation, review, and analysis
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting as directed by executive management


  • 4+ years of experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (Master’s in Accounting or MBA is a plus)
  • Well-versed in general accounting and financial reporting, including internal controls, is required
  • Strong accounting and GAAP background required
  • Public accounting experience is preferred
  • CPA or CPA eligible and actively pursuing is preferred
  • Must exhibit a strong work ethic and be willing and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with ability to complete projects accurately under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable in excel (pivot table experience is a plus)
