Parker and Lynch is currently seeking a Senior Accountant with 4 or more years of experience, for a full-time job located in Oak Park, IL. This direct-hire role for a large-scale healthcare company entails all the below.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Prepares journal entries to record account activity to the general ledger.

 

  1. Reconciles and analyzes complex accounts that support financial statements including cash, intercompany and depository bank statements. Performs monthly review and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts.

 

  1. Reviews preliminary fiscal period general ledger reports for accuracy of account balances. Prepares necessary journal entries to correct ledger for fiscal reports.

 

  1. Prepares and/or reviews fiscal period financial statements and related reports.

 

  1. Reviews financial statements and analyzes actual to budget variances, adjusting as needed.

 

  1. Transfers general ledger information to spreadsheet software and prepares accompanying schedules.

 

  1. Assists directors and managers by analyzing individual expense statements and answers variance questions.

 

  1. Monitor capital asset expenditures, records any trade-ins and disposals, determines depreciable life, computes book and tax depreciation, and maintains property/equipment records; prepares budgets for depreciation.

 

  1. Prepares statements, work papers and schedules for public accountants and other external and internal auditors such as Medicare, Internal Revenue Service, etc.

 

  1. Prepares monthly bills for maintenance chargeback’s, billing services and purchased personnel.

 

  1. Assists directors and managers with the budget process and enters approved budgets into the general ledger system.

 

  1. Assists designated supervisor in the analysis and revision of departmental procedures and other improvements. Performs analysis independently with very little supervision.

 

  1. Assists directors/managers with special projects (i.e. cash audits, accounts receivable audits, etc.). Provide support during audit process with regards to inquiries and analysis.

 

  1. Serves as a resource person for other department staff.

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for the accounting leadership in the absence of their designated supervisor.

 

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.

 

  1. Thorough knowledge of GAAP.

 

  1. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience and responsibility in accounting, preferably in a healthcare organization.

 

  1. The analytical ability necessary to review complex accounts and prepare detailed financial reports.

 

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with various affiliate directors/managers, physicians, and auditors.

 

  1. Working knowledge of a personal computer including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel.

 

 

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: UP TO $85,000 USD (DOE)
