POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly accounting close and reporting cycle. This position must maintain, monitor and report on all fixed asset activity and maintain reconciliations. The position will also assist with forecasting and the annual budget process. Ensures all Briggs Equipment standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Perform complex accounting tasks within the area of assignment, including research and resolution of potential errors or discrepancies.
  • Maintain general ledger and fixed asset accounting for assigned locations.
  • Create, monitor and post accruals and journal entries for closing duties to ensure meeting of deadlines and schedules.
  • Provide bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Analyze changes and identify trends and opportunities to lower or control costs.
  • Assist in planning of annual budget and periodic forecasting.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics of the company to further develop strategies to improve performance.
  • Support annual external audit.
  • Design, document and implement workflow, procedures, checklists, and policies for assigned tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Basic Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize different tasks. 
  • Ability to manage time and apply time-management techniques.
  • Analyze complex information, draw logical conclusions, and make sound recommendations.
  • Read and understand contractual language.
  • Relationship building with Senior Leaders, Operations and other corporate departments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with integrated ERP systems.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Previous Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting
  • CPA license preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in roles with increasing responsibility and analytical decision making preferred
