Parker + Lynch is searching for a Senior Accountant to join the corporate accounting team of a growing firm in Baltimore, MD. Our client is seeking a candidate that will support internal reporting, budget to actuals, SEC filings, benefits accounting, and stock compensation accounting. The winning candidate will have 5-8 years of experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, a public accounting background, and a CPA preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform day-to-day activities associated with the monthly financial statement close process.
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Month-end close: reviewing journal entries, investigating actual results, and preparing the quarterly reporting package.
  • Assist with the annual FERC Form 60 filing by reviewing journal entries, FERC to GAAP reconciliations, and FERC Form 60 schedules.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors and assist, as needed to complete ad hoc requests.

    Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related.
  • At least 5 – 8 years of related experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  •  

    Skills:

  • Detailed oriented with teambuilding and leaderships skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP,FASB and SOX compliance.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
  •
