South Bay technology company is seeking a Senior External Reporting Analyst (Big 4, CPA) 

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, External Reporting to join our SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team. You will report to a Senior SEC Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of SEC reporting and technical accounting research. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • You will assist in the coordination and preparation of information included in earnings releases, annual report, Form 10-K, Proxy Statement, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K and other SEC filings
  • You will assist in drafting of new footnote requirements and MD&A and preparing financial reporting tie-out binders
  • You will support management of the financial reporting software platform (Workiva/wDesk) including process validations and improvements
  • You will perform technical research on accounting issues and new accounting standards and assist in drafting technical accounting memos
  • You will collaborate with facilities and general ledger teams for the execution of the ASC 842, Leases, process, including associated disclosures
  • You will provide audit support during annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • You will coordinate and manage requests from external auditors
  • You will help with M&A transactions and related SOX controls
  • You will assist with the execution, maintenance and updating of SOX 404 processes and procedures
  • You will prepare stock-based compensation calculation, EPS calculation and cash flow
  • You will identify opportunities for process improvements
  • You will assist in the preparation of Audit Committee and other presentation materials
  • Support accounting policy refresh and draft
  • Ad-hoc projects and initiatives and support ad-hoc requests

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA 
  • 2-4 years of public accounting experience and/or relevant industry experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP with proven ability to identify, research and resolve accounting and disclosure matters
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Workiva (a plus)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, with high standards for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Self-driven, ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
