Parker and Lynch is seeking to find a creative and ambitious Senior Cost Accountant with three to five years progressive cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. This is a growing company offering future growth potential.

You will be working closely with the operations and management teams, you’ll help move the company forward with detailed financial reporting, making recommendations for future plans based on your analysis.

You will be responsible for providing manufacturing variances and gross margin analysis. You will also be responsible for month-end close tasks, account reconciliations, and assisting with the annual budgeting process.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY
Senior Cost Accountant with 3-5 plus years progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting. Responsible for the related month-end close tasks and reporting, inventory and cycle count, and assisting with the annual plant budgeting process. Provide manufacturing variance and gross margin analysis. Work with operations and management delivering financial results and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide financial support and be an active member of the plant management team.
• Manufacturing – provide reports and variance analysis.
• Identify efficient ways to collect data for product cost analysis and inventory activity.
• Monthly accounting closing duties consisting of:  journal entries, account reconciliation, account analysis, etc...
• Work integrally with all functional areas in the Company to understand costs and variances related to operating budget and forecasting.
• Work closely with the materials and warehouse departments to ensure appropriate product costing.
• Conduct audit activities to ensure accurate cycle counts and physical inventory valuations.
• Monthly financial statement and account analysis including providing recommendations based on findings.
• Establish metrics to measure performance and maintain appropriate records and controls.
• Assist with external audits.

• Strong systems knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA or CPA preferred
• Manufacturing experience required
