Senior Financial Analyst

Parker and Lynch is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a Logistics, company, specializing in ship management solutions. The Company is located, in Jacksonville, FL and this is a full-time, on-site position. The Senior Financial Analyst will possess strong forecasting and analytical skills.  There is an opportunity to improve processes and identify areas of improvement.  The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, comfortable working on multiple projects and must have the ability to meet deadlines.  Additionally, the candidate will be comfortable collaborating with teams, cross-departmentally and communicating with executives at multiple levels of the organization.


  • Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Prepare and analyze weekly projection reports and research variances
  • Participate in annual budget prep, support budget owners and review submissions
  • Maintain financial models, to support projections and leverage these models to assess actual performance
  • Forecast payroll costs in coordination with Human Resources
  • Capital- Track actual and forecast spend
  • Month-End
  • Review monthly and quarterly financials and investigate variances and identify key drivers impacting performance
  • Prepare month-end claims reserve, review work-in-process reconciliation
  • Audits- Prepare schedules/reconciliations to support external audits
  • Taxation- Work closely with Tax Department to assist in prep of limited number of Corporate filings for the Business Unit, including sales & use tax
  • Skills:

  • Base knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong written and oral skills—comfortable presenting reports
  • Attention to detail and ability to consider materiality where appropriate
  • Ability to quickly adapt to accounting systems
  • Implement process improvements and ability to identify process deficiencies
  • Experience with Lawson (general ledger/subledgers) preferred, not required and Adaptive Insights (Financial Reporting and Forecasting)
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required  


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of educational experience
  • 5+ years of experience
