Parker + Lynch is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team of an exceptional nonprofit based in Reston, VA. Our client is seeking a candidate that will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day company financial planning and analysis activities, including reviewing monthly results to identify and investigate variances to plan, assisting in the presentation of month-end results, and supporting the development of financial plans (budgets/forecasts). The winning candidate will be detail-oriented, used to meeting deadlines, and capable of achieving success in a fast-paced setting. Employees are currently working remote, but this role will eventually be a hybrid role with three days in-office and two remote.


Responsibilities include:

  • Month-end close: running financial reports, analyzing results, and monitoring trends and KPIs.
  • Budgeting and monthly forecasts.
  • Accurately update systems to actual results, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyze and provide commentary on variances.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting standards and financial policies.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of FP&A experience.
  • Background within non-profits or SaaS companies preferred.



  • Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Cognos TM1 and Tableau.
  • Strong understanding of financial reports, GAAP, and financial principals.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
