Senior Payroll Associate

The Payroll Associate - Will  assists with the accurate and timely processing of payroll. The role is responsible for effectively communicating with employees while using extreme discretion and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for payroll functions to include the maintenance, management and processing of end-to-end payroll operations in a deadline driven environment
  • Help to contribute to the thorough and accurate review of payroll prior to transmitting to ADP, including the review of changes against payroll
  • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of changes, ensuring audits are completed and documented
  • Provide support to the routine reviews of tax/informational filings prepared by ADP and reconcile back to G/L, investigating variances and making corrections as necessary
  • Assist in regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Support the relationship with ADP, ensuring tax liability funding and quarterly tax filing is reconciled before submission
  • Support the Manager with the development and implemented payroll processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Create journal entries for upload from the accounting team
  • Address issues and questions from the business on payroll related items & other responsibilities as required
  • Handle garnishments and employment verifications as needed
  • Calculate and process off cycle manual checks
  • Process new hires, leaves and terminations according to state and federal regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll procedures and payroll related tax filings
  • Thorough knowledge of year end processing, amended returns, W2C, and quarterly adjustments
  • Knowledge and understanding of payroll regulations (FLSA), wage/tax law, and record keeping/administration required
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be proactive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads
  • Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experienced and skilled in MS Office applications
  • Ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Multi-State/International experience
  • Proficiency in German
  • Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, knowledge of both internal (SAP HR) and outsourced (ADP) payroll systems
  • FPC, CPP
