Sr. Cost Accountant

Location:              Everett

Job type:              Permanent, Direct Hire

Hours:                   40-hour weeks with flexible start / end times. Occasional overtime during month, quarter, and year-end.

Salary:                   75K – 90K(base DEO)  + bonus and great benefits / retirement plan

Our client, an exciting and growing manufacturing company backed by a well-known public equity firm, is expanding its team for its Everett, WA office. They’re currently in need of a Sr. Cost Accountant to join their team. The position will be reporting directly to the Controller, a great mentor and leader with a vast background in high tech and manufacturing.  Be prepared to learn, gain ownership on meaningful projects, and play a key role in bringing stronger insight to senior management to this growing division!  This is a full time permanent position that offers great career advancement, a competitive salary package, and great benefits. 

Overview of the responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and Analysis -  Inventory valuation, purchasing variances, and standard costing analysis derived from product data management, production and sales and raw materials.
  • Direct operational engagement to help the non-accounting and finance members understand the financial data and what type of impact that information would have towards their division (details like physical inventory, variance, cost, reserve analysis, and root cause analysis and solutions to enhance improvements will be part of the conversation)
  • Assist in performing Month end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Reporting - financial, Internal management, operational, and metric
  • Forecasting and Budgeting functions as assigned by Controller
  • Process improvement initiatives that include LEAN methodology and Kaizen practices will help this person advance throughout the department and company
  • Other project based functions as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • CPA or CMA designation a plus, but not required.
  • 2+ years of similar related responsibilities for a mid to large size organization
  • Must display exceptional inter-personal communication skills
  • Must have a high level of proficiency in MS Excel and strong technical aptitude to learning a large scale ERP system
  • Confidence and excitement to take ownership on projects, work directly with the business, and help be part of creating process improvements that will have a direct positive impact to the business
