Parker and Lynch is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join the accounting team with one of our prominent non-profit clients located in the greater Sacramento Area. In this position, you will support the Controller with a several internal and external reporting requirements and audits including financial analysis and other accounting functions. You will be responsible for the revenue recognition for contracts with customers, provide direct support to the Assistant Controller, work with other accounting personnel, and provide accounting support to program managers and department leads. Please send your resume to Cheyanne at Cheyanne.muller@parkerlynch.com for immediate consideration.

 

In this position you can expect to:

 

  • Assist with the design and implementation of controls and processes for revenue recognition in connection with ASC 606 
  • Be responsible for revenue recognition in compliance with current accounting standards and contracting policies
  • Prepare various general journal entries and supporting analysis during the month end close process.
  • Take on responsibility of maintaining and updating the revenue recognition policies and procedures as the company explores new revenue sources.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and account ledger maintenance.
  • Provide back-up month end duties for other accountants when the need arises.
  • Assist the Assistant Controller in annual financial statement audit process.
  • Prepare audit schedules as required.
  • Research technical accounting standards and disclosure requirements to ensure compliance with GAAP and tax requirements.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and financial reporting attributes in ERP system and other reporting systems.
  • Document accounting policies, procedures and workflow for your areas of responsibility.
  • Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements.

 

 

 

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Minimum of three years of public accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of standard accounting systems and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAS and GAAP).
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC 606.
  • High degree of computer literacy of specialized software ERP accounting systems and databases.
  • Ability to create documents such as financial reports, narrative analyses, and spreadsheets including graphical representation.
  • Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to act and operate independently and as part of a team with minimal daily direction from the Assistant Controller.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, including team members, management and external entities.
