They are seeking to hire a Staff Accountant to assist with the completion of the monthly closing process and financial statement preparations. As part of the closing process, this individual will need to complete account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy. In addition, this person will need to perform detailed analysis to help management understand what is happening in the business, so they can better manage operations.

 

Responsibilities

• Ability to continuously and effectively meet a 5-day close schedule

• Prepare and post monthly general journal entries (Benefit Allocations, Concur Expenses, Depreciation, etc.)

• Maintain Accruals and Prepaids to ensure timely reporting of expenses

• Reconcile Balance Sheet Account Balances

• Monthly processing and reconciliation of corporate cash sweeps

• Monthly posting of Bonus and Commissions Accruals

• Review expense accounts to determine accuracy and potential cost savings

• Reconcile Sub-Ledgers with General Ledger

• Ability to handle and be discrete with confidential information

• Reconcile Intercompany Balances to ensure elimination at the corporate level

• Prepare spreadsheet analysis for Senior Management

• Regularly review accounting procedures and policies to ensure they are the most up to date and effective

 

Skills and Experience:

• Strong MS Excel Skills required – Vlookup and Pivot Tables experience is required

• Must have strong Prioritizing / Organizational Skills and be deadline oriented

• Attention to detail and accuracy is a must

• Strong Communication Skills

• Needs to be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong Problem solving skills are a required

• BA or BS Degree in Accounting Required
