Parker+Lynch is conducting a search on behalf of a private family office in Seattle. This job is 100% remote for now, but once social distancing allows the work environment will by hybrid with Monday & Friday as WFH. The Company seeks an accurate, efficient Bookkeeper to provide accounting support to our ten staff members in our downtown Seattle office. The Company provides tax, accounting and administrative support to a group of private clients and their related entities.

This position reports to the President, and specific responsibilities will include:

  • Enter data into QuickBooks, tax return preparation software and Excel spreadsheets from various source documents. Convert the spreadsheets into PDF.
  • Maintain, reconcile and close the books at year-end for small entities with our without QuickBooks.
  • Monitor accounts to determine accounts below cash threshold and to identify erroneous or fraudulent transactions using reports generated from the financial institution website or alerts e-mailed by the financial institutions.
  • Monitor e-mails sent to specific group e-mails and follow guidelines as to how to deal with different e-mails.
  • Monitor reconciliations provided by investment advisors and follow guidelines as to how to deal with issues.
  • Receive electronic or hard copy instructions for money movement, confirm and input the required information directly into or via a spreadsheet into an online money movement software or into an email to be sent to financial institutions for execution.
  • Download information from the internet on to our network and incorporate the information into Excel spreadsheets as needed or requested by other staff members.
  • Set up new or existing vendors in QuickBooks as 1099 eligible vendors from W9 forms that this position would have requested and obtained from vendors throughout year. In January compile information and prepare 1099s using or an equivalent service.
  • Calculate monthly or periodic payroll and prepare quarterly state payroll tax forms for household and entity employees. Prepare W-2s and W-3s for various clients at year-end using or an equivalent service.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Enter data into Word, Excel or third party software to produce necessary documents
  • Work with other admin and accounting staff members to cover the accounting and admin work needs of the group.
  • The successful candidate will have:

    ·        5+ years of bookkeeping experience in a high-volume environment

    ·        Experience with workpaper preparation and applying rules regarding Washington B&O tax, sales and use tax, and Federal and various state payroll taxes

    ·        Computer proficiency: Excel (including data lookup and pivot tables), QuickBooks, Word (including mail merge), Quicken, Adobe Acrobat and DocuSign.

    ·        Superior accuracy and attention to detail at all times, including the ability to self-check work effectively

    ·        Superior ability to identify pattern changes (recognize differences or similarities in information received) and determine how these affect the duties to be performed

    ·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    ·        The ability to follow instructions from many team members, ask questions to clarify understanding, and identify when more instruction is needed

    ·        The ability to work and learn independently

    ·        Experience with handling confidential information
