Staff Accountant

Parker + Lynch is currently looking to recruit a Staff Accountant located in San Francisco, CA. Our client is looking for an Accountant candidate with minimum of 1 plus years of accounting experience with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. This is a great opportunity for an individual that is looking to grow within a company. Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting accounting team. Which includes completion of files, managing accounts payable, and accounts receivables. Assisting accounting personnel with projects and maintaining business objectives.

Leadership / Management

  • Attend and contribute to team meetings.
  • Actively participate in the performance review process, provide feedback via a 360 degree feedback process.

  • Maintain vendor and client relationships that are based on trust and respect.
  • Correspond with vendors, clients and other internal and external team members in a professional manner.
  • Program Management

  • Assist accounting team and controller with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part.
  • Using bookkeeping database, spreadsheets and software.
  • Assist with timely monthly invoicing process.
  • Input vouchers, invoices, account statements, reports, and other records.
  • Assist in input of monthly credit cards transactions, obtaining receipts from managers.
  • Assist in collection process, contact clients with delinquent accounts. Communicate with project managers and accounting team on status of accounts.
  • Assist project managers in financial project reports.
  • Update accounts payable/receivable and perform reconciliations.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Assist the accounting finance team in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.

  • Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Verbal communication skills, including listening and questioning.
  • Time management skills.
  • Computer software skills:  Intermediate to advanced MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Advanced Excel skills. Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Innovative – can promote new ideas with sound business potential.
  • Team player:  works with project team

  • Job duties are performed in multiple types of environments.  A majority of job duties are performed in an open office environment utilizing standard office equipment such as a computer, printers/plotters, photocopier, fax and telephone.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
