Parker and Lynch is currently seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant with accounting/finance internships experience, for a full-time job located in Chicago, IL. This direct-hire role for a manufacturing company entails all the below.

Parker and Lynch is looking for a dynamic accounting and finance professional who can manage the minutiae of AP/AR while growing into more strategic responsibilities as the company continues its acquisitive growth. Current position is more task oriented, but we are looking for someone to streamline processes and make it less transactional. As our company continues to grow our goal is for this position to evolve into more complex accounting responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Ledger (40%)

  • Preparation and entry of monthly journal entries in ERP
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for GL accounts including cash reconciliations, prepaids, leases and accruals
  • Monthly update of lease assets/liabilities utilizing SimpLease lease management software
  • Maintenance of fixed asset sub-ledger including book and tax depreciation
  • Prepare schedules, as needed, for external audit purposes
  • Additional account analysis as needed
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable (30%)

  • Run corporate office accounts payable and accounts receivable (nominal) processes from start to finish with goal of streamlining processes and gaining efficiency
  • Ensure proper documentation of new vendors (W-9s)
  • Ensure proper authorization of payments
  • Invoice data entry/allocation
  • Rebill of shared services to 8 subsidiary companies
  • Weekly processing of payments via check and/or ACH
  • Prepare/issue annual 1099s
  • Monthly preparation of statements for accounts receivable
  • Deposit cash receipts and record cash application in ERP
  • Payroll/Benefits (20%):

  • Run biweekly payroll for corporate office using Paylocity software
  • Record payroll entries to ERP
  • Verify weekly funding requests for deferred compensation and retirement plans
  • Prepare monthly internal premium rebilling to subsidiaries utilizing bSwift HRM program to improve efficiencies
  • Process payments to insurance carries for self-insured plans utilizing bSwift HRM data
  • Prepare monthly report summarizing cash activity of self-insured benefit plans to monitor plan performance
  • Prepare monthly allocations for self-insured workers comp claim and fee payments
  • Prepare weekly allocations for self-insured health care plan claim payments
  • Follow up with payroll vendor to resolve discrepancies/issues
  • Office Management (10%)

  • Order business and kitchen supplies, as needed
  • Scheduling of accommodations/meals for senior management and board of director meetings
  • Act as liaison between building management office and CMC office
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires to set up building access
  • Other administrative duties as needed

    Employment Type: Full-time

    Compensation: UP TO $70,000 USD (DOE)
