ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

-Accurate and timely filing of all monthly and quarterly sales, use, Canadian GST and liaise with 3rd party filers for Mexico, Canada, Netherlands, Poland and United Kingdom.

-Manage all areas related to sales and use tax compliance, including but not limited to, maintaining sales tax rates in system, determine sales and use tax compliance in respective states, maintaining current sales tax exemption certificates, review and audit sales and accounts payable for compliance sales and use tax compliance

-Perform monthly indirect tax account reconciliations and prepare necessary month end journal entries related to the indirect tax function

-Possess strong accounting skills that analyze and reconcile tax related accounts of Statutory (in-Country) tax accounts to the US parent reporting.

-Prepare and ensure compliance of personal property tax, business license, annual reports, unclaimed property forms

- Ensure Finance systems and processes are capturing necessary data and documentation for indirect tax audits

- Effective management of Global indirect tax audits and examinations

- Liaise between Customer service and customers for compliance of exemption certificates for direct and drop ship sales

- Strong knowledge and skill in identifying sales taxable transactions, Wayfair compliance, and analyze business activity in states and determine Nexus status and if necessary prepare the necessary registration or withdrawal documents

- Assist with Vertex software implementation

- Possess experience or working general knowledge of Federal and State income tax in order to support Tax Director in producing book to tax worksheets, foreign bank reporting and other workpapers as necessary to support the Federal and State income tax function

- Maintain the tax basis of furniture, fixtures and equipment property schedules in depreciation software

--Challenge existing processes and recommend/support necessary improvements to existing processes relevant to the Indirect Tax function.

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

 

 

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Tax or Accounting.

Minimum 3-5 continuous years public/private experience concentrated in the area of indirect tax

General working knowledge of federal/state income taxes

Must be highly skilled in Microsoft office suite, especially Advanced Excel

Previous experience with Sales tax support software, Vertex preferred, fixed asset software, LN/Infor, SAP or similar ERP

Excellent organizational skills, experience managing a diverse workload and skilled at reprioritizing

Ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions

Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Licensing or other special certifications: CPA preferred

 

Compensation - 85,000.00 110,000.00
