Parker and Lynch has an opening for an US Indirect Tax Technology Senior Analyst for our client in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Financial Systems teams, Shared Services teams, Business Process Managers, and IT to address functional and systems issues and requirements that effect sales/use tax compliance.
  • Manage multiple overlapping indirect tax technology projects that consider various finance and tax initiatives and/or requirements simultaneously
  • Responsible for indirect tax automation and reporting tools within ERP systems (Oracle R12, Peoplesoft), system implementations and upgrades.
  • Ensure tax systems utilize software enhancements and capabilities
  • Set goals and deadlines, management resources, determine project plans, and monitor and communicate project status throughout process until project completion.
  • Customize and configure tax systems to enhance functionality.
  • Identify value propositions and make recommendations to senior leaders, including those within tax and other business partners.
  • Suggest courses of action and implement solutions to prevent future errors.
  • Responsible for reporting metrics to determine sales and use tax implications of business operations.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • At least 5 years of sales and use tax experience, specifically using Tax Engine Software (Vertex)
  • Prior experience using Oracle R12, ebtax, and Vertex
  • Prior project planning and management experience
  • Advanced IT skills such as Tableau or Alteryx
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and other automation or business intelligence skills, such as SQL, VBA, or JavaScript
  • Must possess strong work ethic and be able to manage multiple projects with various stakeholders
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and be able to work independently to resolve issues
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Vertex Certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
