Valuation Analyst

Parker + Lynch is seeking a Valuation Analyst for our Houston area private equity client. The ideal candidate will embody a personality that is entrepreneurial yet very analytical and a critical thinker, customer service driven, works well under pressure, excellent communicator, great with numbers and detailed financial modeling. Primary responsibilities of the Valuations Analyst role include:

  • Valuation of portfolio investments
  • Building necessary financial models, such as cash flow, portfolio, option pricing and valuation models as needed
  • Researching industry-specific events and materials
  • Utilizing 3rd party data services such as Bloomberg S&P Capital IQ and others
  • Familiarity with standard valuation practices around multiples, capital asset pricing models, option pricing models, etc.
  • Willingness to create/learn models not already created
  • Participate in regular portfolio reviews
  • Collaborate with third-party valuation firms and auditors for periodic valuation alignment

    Primary requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics or Engineering)
  • Minimum 2-4 years analytical experience in investment banking, asset management, corporate finance, or third-party valuations firm role
  • Strong analytical, quantitative skills and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exposure to energy sub-sectors is beneficial
