Chief Financial Officer

Parker & Lynch has been retained to run a CFO search for a rapidly growing telemedicine company in the Chicago area that has experienced YOY growth of 50-100% in recent years. The position is a unique opportunity to join an already profitable, fast-growing organization, that needs formalization of their accounting and finance function with the goal to raise capital through an IPO or other transaction to fuel exponential growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all aspects the company’s analytics, finance and accounting functions. These functions include but are not limited to tax and financial accounting, audit execution, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, treasury operations and management, financial risk management, accounting operations, cash flow management and banking and lender relationship management.  


  • Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis activities
  • Ensure the company adheres to all banking and credit covenants
  • Lead the three-year financial planning process
  • Lead evaluation and due diligence on all M&A activity
  • Annual budgeting and budget reporting
  • Responsible for cash flow management for the entire business
  • Responsible for all company banking activities and relationships
  • Lead and execute monthly accounting close and prepare financial statements
  • Lead and execute annual financial audit utilizing external auditors
  • Lead and execute all tax-related filings
  • Responsible for the establishment, modification, and documentation of accounting control procedures to prepare for capital or debt raises and the potential of an IPO
  • Create and run reports to identify discrepancies and correct them
  • Create and execute finance and accounting related processes in support of the business


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or hard sciences required
  • Master's Degree and/or CPA certification highly desired
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Proven experience as a financial controller or other accounting leadership role
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
  • 15+ years of work experience
  • IPO Readiness experience highly preferred
  • Public company reporting exposure
  • Experience evaluating M&A targets
  • Experience closing M&A transactions
  • Experience supervising individuals in an accounting and finance function
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF editor
  • Advanced and Deep Excel skills
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks a plus
  • Previous CFO experience a plus
